Hey Gang,
We've been contacted by Cub Scout Pack 928 (the one we sponsor) to provide cooking services for their annual event, the Soap Box Derby! It's a fun event and the youngsters that have worked hard building their cars will be there with tense excitement and an opportunity to show off their cars it a track competition. It's really fun to watch and help with this event.
We will be providing the burgers, dogs and buns and I believe the Scout Pack will be providing all of the condiments and other "stuff" as they have done in the past.
The event is scheduled for Saturday March 14th. The races start at 10:30 and I will confirm our arrival and serving time once I am sure we will have enough participants for me to commit to the event. So, as time is a bit short, please let me know as soon as you can if you can help us out on March 14th in order to provide enough time to the Scout Pack to arrange for alternate sources to serve their lunch. hopefully, I can give them a positive response for us to perform this annual community service. It's also a lot of fun to watch the excited Cub Scouts who have worked hard on making their from a simple block of wood! Watching a couple of races are really rewarding for us as we can see good kids doing good things!
So, kindly let me know if you can participate on March 14th somewhere around 11:00 or so (I will report a more firm time when I know we are going to participate. Location is at the Allied Gardens Recreation center and we use the shuffle board facility located on the far side of the park near 51st Street. Parking is available on Greenbrier.
