October marks the beginning of our new Kiwanis year. It is a time when we look back at the past and look forward to the future. This year is no exception. For our Installation Party, on October 14, we gathered at the home of Dave and Carolyn Erlanson. Our theme was Jamaican Island Vibes in honor of our new club President, Jim Akin. Flowered prints, colorful leis and fresh pineapples were ubiquitous! We enjoyed island food with Jerk chicken and rice, plantains, shrimp curry, and collard greens finished off with a variety of delicious desserts.

So as we thanked our 2022-23 leaders for their outstanding service, we welcomed their successors. Division 21 Lieutenant Governor Neill Kovrig was on hand to retire the past year’s leaders and install our new board and directors. Jim Akin, is excited to lead us in growing our club and expanding our outreach and support for our community. He will be mentored by our Immediate Past President, Vic Enchelmayer. Alan Young and John Crawford and have graciously agreed to assume the roles of treasurer and secretary, respectively.  With these terrific leaders, we look forward to stepping into a new and exciting year!
