Registration is now open for Key Leader Weekend, a leadership retreat for teens held in the mountains of Julian every year.
Key Leader is a program originally developed by Kiwanis International, in which students in grades 8-12 are taught about values such as personal integrity, community building, respect, personal growth, and the pursuit of excellence.
Participating students will arrive at Camp Cedar Glen after school on Friday, February 23rd, where they are divided into groups and assigned to cabins. Each group is led by a student facilitator as they work on team-building activities, outdoor challenges (such as a climbing wall, mountain hike, or obstacle course). Students learn to tap into their inner potential and bond with others. By the time each student is ready to go home on Sunday, many of them hate to leave because they’ve made so many new friends along the way.
