About 4,500 high schoolers went to Six Flags Magic Mountain on Veteran's Day, November 11th, to help raise money for the Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis Children's Fund and its Pediatric Trauma Program. This event, the annual Key Club Fall Rally, is one of the largest Kiwanis Family fundraising efforts anywhere in the world.
Among those students participating were thirteen members of the Patrick Henry High School Key Club, led by President Irene Bui and sponsored by the Grantville-Allied Gardens Kiwanis Club. The students boarded school buses from San Diego at 6:00 a.m., spent their entire day at the theme park, and didn't get home until after 11:00 p.m. that night.
While it might seem like just a day at the park for many of the participating students, in reality a portion of every ticket sold for Fall Rally helps raise money to treat and prevent traumatic injuries to the very young. Fall Rally, now well into its third decade as Key Club's most popular fundraiser, regularly raises more than $100,000 per year to help treat young patients and prevent additional injuries.
