G.A.G. Kiwanis is proud to welcome the newest K-Kids Club in town!

Congratulations to Foster Elementary School!
The first K-Kids Club was founded in the Florida District in 1990. By 1994, the concept had spread to the West Coast, as our own Dr. Doug Grosmark started the first K-Kids Club in California at Hearst Elementary School.

Today, more than 30 years later, membership in K-Kids is thriving. We will proudly celebrate the newest K-Kids Club at Foster Elementary school in Allied Gardens with the club’s official charter presentation ceremony on Tuesday, May 19th after school.

Credit for the new club goes to G.A.G. Kiwanis member Rosy Moreno, who was a member of K-Kids herself when she went to Alice Birney Elementary School as a child. Now a mother to her two boys, Elijah and Jacob, Rosy joined G.A.G. Kiwanis with the specific purpose of creating a K-Kids Club at Foster, where her own kids can get the same experience she had as a youngster.

The charter party for a new club is always an important and memorable occasion, something that should be celebrated. At the final K-Kids meeting of the year, Kiwanians are invited to take part in the official charter ceremony, complete with food and refreshments for the students. All of the charter members of the new K-Kids Club will be recognized, as we encourage the 5th-graders to continue their volunteer work next year in Builders Club. Special guests will include Division 21 Kiwanis Lt. Governor Jan Whitacre and Jeff Ott (Cal-Nev-Ha K-Kids District Administrator), both visiting from the Tierrasanta Kiwanis Club.
